The Importance of Audio

This is the silent movie me and my team made. We took the film and added sound by recording new sounds to layer over the top. This is called the art of foley. By adding sound we get a greater understanding of the surroundings, it creates emotion, atmosphere, tension and suspense.

We recored sounds of running foot steps, the lift, sitting in a chair, bottle opening etc. All these sounds we re-recored and edited into the video. I edited these certain bits of audio so it sounds like, for example - when Ryan presses the lift button, the edited sound will play at that part, so it sounds like thats the real sound.
