Peer Assessment
I played the board game 'Purge', I found it enjoyable because of the way it looks, and also the way it plays. I found it aesthetically pleasing because of the colour schemes, which are reds and greens (complementary colours), a clear layout and a simple design. The logo stands out because of the bright red, this makes it look like its written in blood, this also gives you a feel of what its going to be like when playing - violent and graphic. The rule sheet was clear and colourful, and had a simple layout that gave the information across nicely. A rule that I thought would be a good addition is that when you get into a fight with another player, instead of just using the cards you acquire it would be interesting to add a dice role to give the other player a chance and also another element of luck.
The game has a nice pace and is fun to play, although there are two things I would change. First of all there should be fewer death cards and a wider range of weapons and secondly I believe the age rating is too low because of all the violence and blood, so because of this I would make it a 15+.
This board game stuck to the international paper size A3, it also included traditional elements such as playing pieces, a clear set of rules and a working board. It has a clear product identity and a visual style. The game wasn't hazardous in any way, apart from the target audience range started too low. Overall I thought it was enjoyable, well done purge team!
