The Silent Film

                                                                      My Silent Film

My team and I decided to make a silent film about a thief, who was going to steal a bottle of   water from the canteen and run away with it. We shot in several places, such as the canteen, top floor, the lift and the library. The thief (Ryan) ran to all these places, while doing a silly walk. I think we did very well and had plenty of footage. I then edited this by chopping clips down, transforming it to black and white and adding black bars to the sides of the video. I did this because I wanted it to look old, just like the Charlie Chaplin films. I used a camera fixed to a tripod because I wanted to create the effects of the first silent movies. Also I added some piano piano music from 1900s, which is called 'The Entertainer'. I think the music works very well with the video because it is up beat and comical. I am very pleased with the final outcome, although I would've liked to record Ryan going up the lift, but we couldn't do this because the lift took ages to come down. I have used a SLR camera before, and I've used Premier Pro a few times, but I got the hang of it really quickly. I plan to test my self in the future by working with different people.
